Having a community hospital in a city of 50,000 is key public safety infrastructure that is essential to any basic concept of emergency preparation.

The actual reality and physical embodiment of that statement is on its way to the wrecking ball.

All while the Metro Health System is building new community hospitals in suburbs that are similar to Lakewood.

I had always assumed that Metro was just a sideline player and its interest in Lakewood was superficial thereby allowing the Administration to dismiss Metro's proposal. What an eye opener!
