A light slippery snow made the roads pretty tough. Here a car spins out going down Riverside Drive.

A couple minutes later salt and plows. The plows seem to be going by pretty regularly.

Ryan Salo wrote:I believe the city will do a fantastic job keeping the streets safe during this storm. Here's why.

1. The mayor is in town so he will make sure the plows are out - salt or no salt
2. We have had a lot of notice
3. The temperatures will stay high enough for salt to work
4. The mayor has used up all of his excuses so he needs to deliver again like he did on Sunday.

Mike almost pulled it off to perfection, Ryan.

The 'Wood looked pretty good for most of the day.

Thankfully, we didn't get hit as hard as was tweeted.

For whatever reason, Elmwood - the street which is home to Grant Elementary School - wasn't plowed until around 2:50 p.m.

From noon to about 2:50 p.m., Elmwood looked like this:

But, with 10 minutes still left on the clock, Mike somehow pulled the plow job off and cleared Elmwood well without a second to spare.

A tip of the hat to Mike Summers and his gang!

The roads look great this morning (although the crosswalks could still use some attention).

And, I received a very sincere response yesterday from Mike as to why Elmwood wasn’t plowed yesterday (see the photo above). Mike sent me the email at 6:37 p.m. last night so he was obviously working late.

Nicely done, Mike. Nicely done.

Plowed roads.

Thank you!

So, is it now okay to complain about sidewalks now that the Mayor is complaining about sidewalks, too?

Sweet Christmas some of those Cleveland.com commenters are idiots. Any excuse not to shovel. Yep, they are the problem.

Long term I think sidewalk plows would help a lot, but short term, the only practical way to clear snow is resident by resident.

When we look at this thread in 2015, let it be known to all that snow did indeed fall on March 29-30, 2014, and Belle Avenue was plowed well.

Let it also be known that our street too, was well plowed. :D

That's the good news. :D

The bad news was that it seems to me that much of that street snow now resides on our driveway apron.

Oh well, you can't please everyone.

Back to the banjo. (that I suspect could soon be doing double duty as a shovel. )

When we look at this thread in 2015, let it also be known to all that snow did indeed fall in the 'Wood on April 15, 2014, and that city snow plows and salt trucks were out and about on this tax day ... although I'm not sure they were needed.

First real snowfall of the season! I hope Lakewood leaders can live up to the high expectations the citizens have for keeping the streets safe.
