President Obama At Cleveland State - 10.05.2012

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

October 5, President Obama stopped off in Cleveland for a visit with Clevelanders at Cleveland
State University. On what was a cold rainy afternoon, thousands stood in the cold steady
drizzle eagerly waiting for the President to come and address the crowd. With a majority
of the crowd showing up at 11 am, the wait to 2:30 pm in the rain was nothing short of
miserable. But I did not see anyone leaving, and everyone seemed to really enjoy the afternoon
as they left the stadium.

A lot of cold wet people.

People used anything to get out of the rain.

Lakewood Director of Public Works, Joe Beno with his daughter. Joe held her for nearly
four hours in the rain, high above the crowd for her to see the President. Talk about the
love of a father for his daughter.

Tatiana Nicole Brown was chosen to introduce the President. As it was cold and wet, the
President had lent her his coat.

So when the POTUS came out, it was time to give it back.

Another great speech.

Another great speech.

It is amazing how good he sounds when his speeches are written out for him.

Just wonder who the puppet master is. :D

I took my 10 year old daughter to see President Obama and she was thrilled to actually see a President in person. Politics aside this is our president. For a child it is about her country and the pride she feels about being American, or just being able to share with her social studies teacher that she got to see the President. I am so happy I was able to give this opportunity to my daughter. It is too bad more adults don't remember the awe pride that is inspired when country is put before politics. I know I can be guilty of this, but it was a pleasure watching my daughter enjoy the moment and her place in history.
