I'm Jim Sprenger, owner of Jammy Buggars. A friend of mine let me know of the thread and I thought I'd drop in and introduce myself. I'm sincerely humbled by the positive curiosity. ...but that's why I love this town.
I am sorry to disappoint those that thought of us a new burger joint. But we do have an amazing grass-fed burger on the menu! Not just an ordinary chuck, this is an ohio raised beef grind containing the brisket, shank and flank-steak resulting in the best burger I've ever had. Of course, I'm biased.
Let me reassure you that we are also not a british pub. You may find fish-n-chips on the menu, but they won't be confused with any standard pub fare. Our chef driven menu is sophisticated enough for a nice meal but casual enough for every day dining.
...and then we have beer. A beautiful new 20 faucet tower has just been added to the back bar. Mostly craft, but I saved room for a nice rootbeer and cider.
We open on May 31st. Stop in for a bite....stay for a pint! ...and please ask for me. I'd love to meet you!

Welcome to the Deck and to business on Detroit Avenue. Thank you for taking a shot at business here in Lakewood, and for posting on the Deck.
I would be the ASS, that read your name wrong and said, "Oh no another burger place." I spoke with Dru Siley two days ago, and he explained more about your business and it sounds like something new and different for Lakewood.
Good luck, and I for one will stop by with the crew, and look forward to meeting you and celebrating your first of many anniversaries.
.
No worries....and no apologies necessary. I look forward to meeting you, as well! Thank you!

Where's the beef from? Miller's by chance?
While I did speak with Aaron Miller and enjoyed his beef, I went a different route. Green Vista Farms in Wooster is supplying the steer and we process up the road at White Feather Meats. Both Green Vista and the team at White Feather are amazing! Good people and a passion for their craft.

I am definitely going to stop in for a meal. I believe and supporting local businesses. I much rather give my patronage to a business in Lakewood then any other surrounding community....I believe this is important. Hope to see you soon.

Great to hear. I'm a huge fan of beef that's raised humanely and sustainably, a la Niman Ranch. Even better if it's local! Can't wait for the opening!

Well, I'd better plug in that treadmill...I need to walk off the best piece of Derby Pie I've ever tasted!!!
It was served with fresh whipped cream for only $3.75 at Jammy Buggars!!!

Well Stan according to the 2011 LO Dining and Patio Guide in this issue of the Lakewood Observer...
It would seem that we have 180 places to buy prepared food at, and a lot of them have great patios!
Damn I love this city!

Wow, what an amazing place and a great addition to Lakewood. Ate here last night with my wife and had a wonderful time from start to finish.
We had great small salads for appetizers and then split the BBQ Pork Sliders and a Patty Melt special for the day. We also splurged and went for the Buggar Fries (which are well worth the extra) and a side of garlic mayo. Everything tasted good and the prices are very reasonable.
It was also great to meet Jim who spent some time chatting with Karen and I for a while about his background and dream of opening this place. Very personable and friendly and left us with a great impression.
Also, children are very welcome there and it's great to have a place for kids that isn't a chain or treats them like pariahs. This is a well thought out concept.
Mayor Summers was eating there when we arrived and when we left we ran into our friends Betsy and Meg. It was wonderful seeing everyone out and about and enjoying Jammy Buggars.
Kudos to Jim and his team for a place we will be going back to many times!
I was there last night and I would go back. All four of us had a really difficult time picking one thing to order as everything on the menu sounded so damn good.
My husband had the burger with three different kinds of bacon (!!!!) on it. I had the pierogies. My friends had the caprese sandwich and po' boy. We also split some buffalo and frenchy fries for an app. My kids' plates were completely clean at the end too- I guess their chicken fingers and sliders were good.
The pies for dessert were tempting, but I was just too full. Everything was very good. Thank goodness they seated us in a corner area last night as my 4 year old son was in rare form. Our waitress was very nice and cool about it, though. Another great addition to Lakewood! Thank you, Mr. Sprenger.
Matthew, I think you were there at the same time I was. You were right near us, talking to Mayor Summers on the raised seating area.
I apologize if my son disturbed you and your wife at all when we were trying to leave. He was challenging last night for whatever reason. Usually, he is a pretty decent patron.
