Hype and better or BS
Recently i have been having a discussion with members on the right about the quality of Cuban Cigars, and Johnnie Walker Blue.
While I mantain the only real value is in talking about it not actually doing it,
I was assured I was wrong.
Well I put forward this episode of Penn and Teller on bottled water to prove
it is only the hype not the taste or any benefit.
Caution, they talk like Eisel writes!

About the ten minute mark it gets real.

yes
One in Canada smoked till the end, two here in Ohio, one that well, well, well ended up down the drain with a large brandy snifter 1/2 full with Remy Louis the VIII to the horror of the person that had offered them.
I went for the scotch and a Lucky Strike, just to get the taste out of my mouth.
Now there are many reason for this. One is personal taste, two is how the hype works. The one in Canada was with a friend that built it up how he can enjoy them and we could not, and Kennedy and on and on. I was well, wasted, might have even been psychedelics involved.
The second time, it was great going back to the scene of the crime. But unlike going back to see 200 Motels straight. Without the psychedelics I found it to be nothing extremely special without the colorful hype. The third time I figured it was offered with a galss Louis, hell no one offers Louis. I found both to be disgusting.
I do believe I might even have a photo with both in my hands.
Again, to me, the mileage on "Cubans" is telling people, "have you ever had a Cuban?" Not in the act of smoking it. As for the Louis, I now understand why some of my brothers mixed it with coke! I remember these instances not because of the wonderful smoke but because of the hype that went with it. Absinthe is another one of these greatly over hyped products. I have a friend who brings in "the good stuff." The first time it was magical, the utensils, the preparation the fire, the distilation in front of your eyes. The second time it was like Mom trying to get me to drink Cod Liver oil. For me it was Green Chartreuse, after years of never finding it I found a case hidden away in Daytona, and bought it. 18 years later, my mechanic finished the last bottle. When it was under the shelf, did not need it as much.
All hype, as Jeff a cigar smoker mentioned, if they were at Convenient next to the Swisher Sweets we would be hearing about something else I am sure.

No!

I am sure you love it, to me much worse than smoking a cuban cigar.
