Sad day. I really enjoyed Meet the Press and also covering the Presidential Debates in Cleveland, which he co-hosted.

Tim when he was in Cleveland.
Good newsman, good writer, good John Carroll graduate.

Two things:
Few people project the joy Russert did for politics, for interviewing and for his job.
Second, I wish NBC had a portable A.E.D. machine (a defibrillator) on premises. It may have saved his life. Might not have, but we'll never really know.
The City has a number of these machines in public places and they save lives. Even if you don't know a thing about them, the A.E.D. machines will tell you exactly what to do. So, have somebody do chest compressions while somebody else goes looking for the A.E.D.
Classes are offered to teach citizens how to use these things: if you can, take one.

“One of they key problems today is that politics is such a disgrace. Good people don’t go into government.”- 45
