Another place the city-with advice from out-of-town consultants-has totally screwed up is at Mars and Detroit. Some consultant, according to the city, sat there one Wednesday afternoon and decided that traffic light was not needed. Determined to get their money's worth the city got rid of that light. Problem is, I bet that intersection was the MOST crossed place on Detroit in the whole city! Now, everyone who wants to visit Drug Mart and and Library must jay-walk to get there, lest they go a block to either side to an actual crosswalk.
These people/planners are clueless! It's like they come from a different planet and just make it up as they go along, UGH! Lakewood is a WALKING city, get a CLUE, PLEASE! Stop eliminating crosswalks!!!!!!!

Re: City Hall, About Manor Park/Detroit Pssssssst
I blame the first ever City Planner from the day Lakewood was created. Nearly every intersection has a building, hedges, or other obstruction right up to the street. While stopped in my car at the corner I look left for traffic and see a building corner, I look right and see high hedges, I slowly pull up to enter the intersection and a biker go whizzing past me. I say we knock everything down and start over.
I need the Back to the Future car to go back and correct this from day one.
