Or spend hundreds of thousands trying to justify it.

I love so much about this forum but one thing I can't stand is vague posts. And this forum is FULL of them.

Could someone please let me know what the above means?

Sorry.

Since traffic was screwed up with re striping of Detroit Avenue, residents have been asking for the light to be returned...

http://lakewoodobserver.com/forum/viewt ... manor+park

This would be the fourth version of pedestrian crossing, when a light was desperately needed and asked for but told, "No you no longer need one." Traffic arrives coming up a hill that makes it hard to look down the street. With the new "Street-Car Friendly" building on the corner it makes it even more dangerous.

The city refuses to admit they might be wrong, so they continue to spend money on anything but a 4 way stop. Meanwhile, down at Spring Garden and Detroit are two 4-way traffic lights, and there is only three streets! This has been pointed out as well. The city refuses to give in.

Matt, any questions?

That crossing walk light(s) at Manor Park and Detroit seem to be an exaggeration of what was essentially a need for some form of a safe crosswalk. Today, the same style of lights were installed at Clarence and Madison.
I wonder if this particular design is mandated by the State or the Feds?
Whatever, it seems just slightly less muted than the Theater District lighting downtown.
I would like an explanation from someone who did this?

Another serious issue in Lakewood, and Ohio is the many forms of legal crosswalks.

No light, yellow light, red light all means the same thing. Someone in the cross walk, you must stop, except... and there is the problem.

I believe it mentions in that thread Lakewood had 5 different cross walk styles with lights, confusing.

However the other issue is line of site, traffic, and accidents even without pedestrians.

Manor Park, needs a 4-way stop light.

Dunking Donuts got two of them by asking, the street wants it? How many more are needed for the residents to be equal Dunkin Donuts in rights?

We here at your Lakewood City Council fully support the rights of Dunkin Donuts and the CCF. You red shirts and others please kindly stand aside.

Matthew,

So, let's assume this IS directed towards me. There is no place I could find that quotes Stengel saying "You've got left field so screwed up nobody knows how to play it".

Two instances I found of this quote:

1) A story of a player telling Stengel "That guy ahead of me got center field so screwed up, no one could play it". https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid= ... 0353&hl=en

2) A speech from Ronald Reagan attributing the quote to manager Frankie Frisch: http://reagan2020.us/speeches/remarks_a ... dinner.asp

So, from what I can tell, Stengel never actually said it. But certainly could be wrong.
