Thanks for the reminder. Best event so far in 2008!

Ah, burnt monkey.

Anyway, on the grill tonight were loin lamb chops marinated in my sister's homemade mint vinegar, garlic, and fresh ground pepper, salted to taste, and eaten without the use of silverware. Animal eating animal like an animal. Excellent!
Still not as messy as that monkey.

Rhonda,
I'm on it! A little friendly competition, good food, good friends, sounds like a winner already.

Grilling isn't only for meat. My favorite thing to cook on the grill is Fresh corn in the husk. We used to soak it in salt water first and then put it on the grill, but with the fresh corn we got last year from CSA, we just skipped the soaking and put it on.
You can also cut up fresh veges including potatoes, put a little EVOO on them and some seasoning salts, wrap them in Foil and have a great meal.

I like fish on a grill among many other things. Swordfish steaks are great. Rub some fresh ground pepper, paprika, garlic, and wipe those with BBQ sauce, grill them and mmmhmmm.
Agreed on the veggies grilled too. Big huge mushroom caps are great on there as well.
While I love baked potatoes on a grill, you can also slice them thick, with skins, and grill those, wiping on either butter or similar, or again BBQ sauce.
You can mash the potatoes, mix in some grilled onions and make potatoe patties, and grill those too, topping them with garlic, onions, optional sour creme. ahhhh.
