A Little Windy!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

As the wind storm is not supposed to really hit until after 3:00pm you can imagine our shock hearing a large thump and looking out and seeing this.

Oh wow!

Shades of July 4, 1969...

Looks like a similar, if smaller direcho effect may have hit us. A direcho is a straight line wind, while a tornado is a rotary wind.

I may be getting older, or more lazy, though.

On my way home this evening, I saw a bunch of stuff that could have been photographed, but the camera was back at home.

When I got back home, it was decision time. Should I go out and roam the streets like a good reporter, risking falling branches to get the money photo?

Or should I simply go into the house, kick off my shoes, and relax?

As a friend of mine once said, sooner or later, gravity wins; as I sit here squishing my shoeless feet into that plush carpet....

Glad you were out there Jim. Tonight, the great photos are yours. Too bad they are combined with tragedy, as so many good photos often are...

That was a heck of a hit. Looks like it just missed the garage.

The cold winds of December blow over the Emerald Canyon.

Only real damage wat three gutters. The owner had called Davey Tree for an estimate for removal, and he was due out tomorrow!
