Bad Sign For County Reform! - Literally

As I was leaving The Beck I could not help but notice a bunch of new signs that
said "Cuyahoga County Charter Transition"

Well, where many have told us this reform would save tax payers money, ease the
cost of doing business and get rid of redundancies. Many of us worry that it could be
another way for a few to make more, bigger takes and contracts for fewer, and
ineptitude at levels never before witnessed in this county.

Well, as these signs prove, it will not save money, it will make a few more money, and
could be a huge slide into imbecilic levels of waste and stupidity!


As this sign proves, they used twice as much material, labor, and effort to make
single one sided signs instead of merely printing on the back of the signs!

If this is any indication what the new government will do, we better start running now!

Running where? For office? Might as well get in on the gravy train at the ground floor. Country government is almost a joke and will continue to be. We have State, Local, Federal government. I will channel Roy here (in jest) and say we do not need county government.

I am not blaming the new regime. I am merely pointing out the irony that this new regional
whatever will make things better, smoother, stop redundancies, save money...

And already they are being redundant, and wasting money.

But it leads to a much larger issue. HILLBILLY SIGN USAGE!

At what point do two crappy cheap signs on the same property make anything better! I would say
it just clutters up areas, and makes everything around them look as tasteless and crappy as the
cheap signs, and muddies the message and the community.

I was out taking pictures today of signage that detracts from and area and does not add to it, and signs
placed illegally in vacant homes and on tax payer property.

At some point we have to get this sign nightmare under control. Who would want to move into a
city that has every lot, pole, and free space filled with reality signs advertising everything from
matchmaking to beds to...

It would be one thing if the people putting them up designed nice signs and did not abuse the
areas. But all I am seeing now is the ghettoizing of Lakewood, by some that are desperately trying
to drive property values down.
