Hayes Math Night

Post by Justine Cooper »

Hayes Math Night last week was a wonderful collaboration of Title one teachers and volunteers to fill the gym with several hands-on activities and ways to incorporate the standards with fun and games.

They followed with pizza, ice cream and drinks and many door prizes, all generously donated by the community. A lot of thought and time went into that for our kids! One of the biggest factors in effective schools is collaborating with families and this night was one example of how Lakewood does an excellent job with that. Thanks to all who worked so hard for all of us!

I agree with everything Justine said. It was packed!! My daughter had a good time (with repeat trips to the bubble thingy). I said would she do this again next year and she said yeah she would...and then reminded me she was moving on to Harding next year! :( Too fast! :-)

Thanks again, Hayes people!
