Lakewood Schools - Honest Reporting On The Contract

Post by Bill Call »

This Lakewood district is in Licking County and the honest reporting is done by the Buckye Lake Beacon and not the Plain Dealer:

http://www.buckeyelakebeacon.net/news/2 ... aries.html

The opening line:

"HEBRON- Lakewood School District’s teachers and staff’s salaries will be frozen for the 2010-2011 school year. No one working for the district will receive a raise beyond any scheduled step increase."

When our local papers report on school contracts they neglect to mention the step increase and the continuing education increase. The papers end up reporting an 18% increase in salaries as "The teachers union and school district has agreed to a 2% cost of living increase."

Will it be any different this time?
Will the School Board attempt to pass a levy before the contract is negotiated? Time will tell.
