Any dog lovers out there that can help right now?

Post by Valerie Molinski »

My coworker just came in the office and told me that she saw two puppies along the onramp at West Blvd to the Shoreway (towards downtown). They were two black small ones. I cannot leave work right now and it would take me 15 mins to get there.

IS anyone willing to run over there and see if you can help them? Thanks.

I wish I would have seen this. I popped on for a second and then had an emergency for my new dog. I have been checking with some contacts to see if anyone heard anything or picked up any pups in the area and have not heard a word.

Didn't see this until almost noon. It's not far from my work so I took a ride over to the spot and couldn't find them. Hoping they found a safe spot.

The only thing I can hope for is that someone else saw them and decided to stop. Thanks for trying, Ed.

I'm wondering out loud: Would a homeless mother and her baby have gotten anyone to leave work?

That's a legit wonder. Big differences in this case - no mother was present and a baby wandering on or near the highway with no mom present would have garnered immediate attention even if it was just a call to the police. (This just happened recently on the east side.) No doubt police would have responded right away as they should.
Can't speak for anyone else but if I had seen this same message with baby inserted in the place of dog my reaction would have been the same.

Ditto Ed. I've put myself in harm's way many times to go after a loose pet and would have definitely done the same for a baby.

The thing is that if I said I was leaving work in the middle of a deadline to rescue a baby versus a puppy it might have gone over better. And I considered calling Cleveland Animal Control (would have called Lakewood's, but obviously, that is not Lakewood's jurisdiction and I doubt they would have come). I figured Cleveland's probably wouldnt have come either, so I figured posting on here would have gotten a more immediate reaction.

If I knew anything about taking care of babies...

It's not quite as easy to take care of a homeless mother and child, nor am I aware of where I'd be supposed to 'drop them off' or is there a way to paper the neighborhood looking for an 'owner'...
