Larchmere Porchfest! An Idea For Lakewood?

Post by Bill Grulich »

I was scanning through the Plain Dealer and saw this article on Larchmere Porchfest. http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2009/06/larchmere_porchest_scheduled_f.html

Those of you who have been to the Larchmere neighborhood know that the look and feel of those streets are very similar to many in Lakewood. Lakewood has "block parties" and "all street garage sales", why not porch festivals?

According to the Plain Dealer the idea started in Ithaca, NY and the porches are used as stages for musical performances. We have many musicians who live Lakewood. Perhaps, this idea could be part of the Arts District legislation that is before the Lakewood Planning Commission.

The Larchmere Porchfest is this Saturday from 2 - 6 p.m. You can pickup a map at the Vine & Bean Cafe, 12706 Larchmere Blvd. in Cleveland.

P.S. Thanks to Michael Gill for telling me about the article.
