Infanticide - The New Abortion Right

It seems abortion rights advocates are trying to beat the court to the punch on the new abortion right. Under the proposed legislation the killing of an infant under the age of one would be no big deal.

Rush Limbaugh kills and eats one baby a year. Sorry, I don't have a link for that, either. :-)

Bill

I am confused. Does this mean you are not backing the president's health care plan, so that we can continue to lead the Western Hemisphere in early childhood deaths?

Infant mortality in the US is not much worse than in any other country. The higher rate in the United States is due to the increase in the number of premature births. Babies that were once still born or who died shortly after birth are now receiving enhanced health care. Some countries don't count short lived premies as live births and some have those premies killed as part of their eugenics programs.

Obama's plans will lead to increased death rates, more expensive health care, the end of medical innovation, rationing, the end of free choice in medicine and the enslavement of the medical profession. Other than that I guess it's OK.

Bill,

Why is it that anytime you provide a link to something it has the word "blog" or "opinion" in it?

It is ok Bill one day you will wake up in our new socialist paradise and kick yourself for being so negative. ;-) If one day I wake up and you are right and it all goes to hell... Then perhaps that is the way it was meant to be. ;-)

Should the opinion of a pediatric cardiologist on matters of infant mortality be offhandedly dismissed simply because Bill brings them to our attention?

In other news, could the "Bill" character in the "Lakewoodites" comic strip featured in the latest Observer be based on our own resident curmudgeon and conspiracy theorist?

It should be dismissed because I fail to see how it is relevant to Bill's claim...

Obama's plans will lead to increased death rates, more expensive health care, the end of medical innovation, rationing, the end of free choice in medicine and the enslavement of the medical profession. Other than that I guess it's OK.

I am sure I am missing something... Could some one enlighten me... (Note that was not sarcasm)

If a women kills a child under the age of one the "crime" would be punishable by two years in prison if the child was killed because the women was "depressed".

It is unclear whether or not the law would apply to women who kill someone else's child. It is also unclear if the law should be expanded to include men. Don't men get depressed? And anyway, if partial birth abortion is ok why not infanticide? How is partial birth abortion different than infanticide?

If you really cared about children you would be more concerned with the number of uninsured children.
