Infant mortality in the US is not much worse than in any other country. The higher rate in the United States is due to the increase in the number of premature births. Babies that were once still born or who died shortly after birth are now receiving enhanced health care. Some countries don't count short lived premies as live births and some have those premies killed as part of their eugenics programs.

Obama's plans will lead to increased death rates, more expensive health care, the end of medical innovation, rationing, the end of free choice in medicine and the enslavement of the medical profession. Other than that I guess it's OK.

Should the opinion of a pediatric cardiologist on matters of infant mortality be offhandedly dismissed simply because Bill brings them to our attention?

It should be dismissed because I fail to see how it is relevant to Bill's claim...

If a women kills a child under the age of one the "crime" would be punishable by two years in prison if the child was killed because the women was "depressed".

It is unclear whether or not the law would apply to women who kill someone else's child. It is also unclear if the law should be expanded to include men. Don't men get depressed? And anyway, if partial birth abortion is ok why not infanticide? How is partial birth abortion different than infanticide?
