Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum welcomes back annual World Festival
Cleveland, OH- This fall season the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is pleased to host the World Festival, an annual event that celebrates ethnic diversity in greater Cleveland. The World Festival, which features music by performers representing countries across the world, will take place in the Rock Hall’s main lobby on Sunday, October 12 from noon to 4 p.m. The event is FREE, however paid admission is necessary to tour the Rock Hall's exhibits.
This World Festival is made possible through sponsorship by Target and KeyBank and generous support from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. Official media sponsors are WEWS NewsChannel 5 and Radio One.
Ethnic diversity will be celebrated through music and dancing throughout the afternoon. Brazilian, Jamaican, Latino, Middle Eastern, Native American and Serbian groups will provide entertainment, however all cultures and ethnicities will be honored at the World Festival. The array of talent scheduled to perform includes national reggae artist Max Nuhu and Native American rock band Native Reign from New Mexico. Local musicians will also be widely represented. Cleveland’s own Brazilian jazz act Moises Borges, world fusion vocalist Luca Mundaca and the Njegos Serbian Choir will play.
Cleveland dance groups participating in the World Festival include Latino performers Ritmo y Raza who will the bring their colorful performance to the event for the first time. In addition, the Wind and Sand Dance Company will return this year and feature a lively belly dancing performance to dazzle the crowd. Also adding their international flavor to the World Festival will be local vendors, offering a diverse assortment of products, foods and beverages for purchase.
As part of an ongoing community festival series at the Rock Hall, the World Festival offers the opportunity for Cleveland’s diverse communities to become more familiar with the Museum and the variety of music genres and cultures it celebrates.
