1. We are using less transportation fuel.
2. SUV Sales are down.
3. Imports will slow as the dollar continues to weaken.
4. Even the illegal immigrants don't want to be here and are leaving.
5. Pathetic papers such as the PeeDee are struggling while online news is gaining momentum.
6. I don't eat as much meat because I can't afford it so my cholesterol is down.
7. Used durable goods are cheap.
8. Using trains (the most efficient way to transport things) is on the rise.
9. More Americans are beginning to see the cancerous rot in their government at all levels.
10. We spend more time with our neighbors instead of going out.

And you thought I was a pessimist! I can't wait until the whole freakin' thing comes unraveled and people say "What happened?"

What makes you so sure I do not hold them all responsible. However I know one Dem that brought 160 jobs to Lakewood. I know another that has cut Lakewood budget enough to stave of bankruptcy and give us a chance for a future.

You have pointed out, as has Ryan about taking the high road. I appreciate that. I think one of Ryan's post in another thread is one of the finest on the deck. Here is why I am voting, and why. As I read the list, some I agreed with, some I did not, others I understood how they fit in Ryan's life.

So in an effort to start a positive thread on if we even need change...

I am better off because (just me personal)

1)The Al Qaeda threat has been greatly diminished.
2) I pay less in federal income taxes
3) I can now contributed $2,000 a year to my childs education IRA
4) I now have a tax exemption for prepaid college tuition

Woo, Thinking positive hurts my brain.

I suppose I am personally better off because of the depressed market for sellers about a year ago. As a renter for the better part of 5 years I had no home to get rid of before I could buy one. I was able to find a great deal on a nice house. Because of the depressed selling market I was able to pass off some costs that I would have incurred to the seller.
