That was such a sad story on so many levels. I feel for everyone involved. The fact that the women didn't receive the proper treatment because of her insurance denying coverage happens far too often with mental illness. Had she gotten the care to properly treat her bipolar disorder she might have never attempted suicide in such a reckless manner. I am sure a lot of people will say that she shouldn't have crashed into someone else's car, but it is difficult to understand how the brain does not process things when it is working properly. So I can empathize with her. But I also sympathize with the victim's friends and families. Three men were killed through no fault of there own and it is understandable that their families want her to be punished and there does need to be some punishment. It seems that serving just a few years for causing the death of three people is just not long enough. This story just illustrates that our justice system is unfair in sentencing and that health care (especially that of the mentally ill) is broken.
