Clinton's campaign debt

Post by Brad Hutchison »

Does anyone else think it's weird and/or mildly irritating that there's so much pressure on Obama to help Clinton with her lingering campaign debt? She held a competing fundraiser last night, and there's minor controversy this morning because Obama almost forgot to implore donors at his fundraiser to give to her. I just find the principle odd.

Brad---I think it's just mildly weird. Actually, from what I've been reading (and if you read this issue of the Observer you know that I am a news junkie :D ) I think the Democrats and particularly Barrack and Hillary are doing a tremendous job in patching up any bitter feelings. And, I speak from personal campaign experience, too, in that assessment.
Compare that to the Republican side whose conservative anti American faction still wants to give their nominee a hard time.

I agree on your points, Stan. Just this specific issue of the campaign debt bothered me. From the Democrats' POV, if I'm trying to get my candidate elected, I don't want him out there stumping and raising money for anyone but himself.
