Bittorent protocol not just used for evil!!

Post by Jim DeVito »

Everybody's friend Google does no evil right.
The gOS. Google's venture into the open OS market is powered by Ubuntu. When downloading the live CD they encourage you to use the torrent file so as to distribute the bandwidth over a wider network of computers.

They even pre-package the gOS on a cheap hardware platform that they sell (insert evil walmart pun here) -mart.

gOS is not sponsored by or affiliated with Google.

From the footer....

Google, the Google logos, are trademarks of Google Inc. gOS is not affiliated with Google or their partners.

But I do agree that Bit Torrent is not evil. :)

Good call, missed the footer. That kind of makes scene. The whole doing no evil thing does not really work if you are doing business with walmart.

Very true. I wonder though how long it will be before Google's lawyers jump on the gOS name?

Valid point with the success of Apple's i(Products). And the foresight Google seems to display. You would think they have already grabbed up g(Anything).
