taxes have greatly increased the price of cigarettes.

My research shows some varieties of tobacco have been grown commercially in Ohio and even Connecticut in the past. It may even grow well enough in greenhouses.

Do you need a license to grow tobacco? Are there taxes on selling un-processed tobacco leaves?

I don't think anyone is interested in loose tobacco, either for pipes or for rolling your own.

Tobacco takes up a lot of garden space.

After reading about big suburban pot "greenhouses" it would be somewhat amusing if the crop turned out to be tobacco.

it seems complicated to cure the tobacco leaves. Here is one possible solution: just leave it inside parked cars. it gets pretty hot in there.

I don't know. sometimes I would leave bagels and stuff in the car. Later, they were very dried out.
