Observers,
Lakewood's own Mark Timieski has a great letter printed in today's Plain Dealer advocating against the costs of sprawl.
See his letter here: http://www.cleveland.com/letters/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/opinion/1174467641192600.xml&coll=2
Mark correctly points out that while developers and residents moving to the exurban fringe get a short-term (one-time) boost, costs end up coming back and biting us all through stretching thin our tax dollars over new (in exurbia) and aging (in the old urban core) infrastructure.
There has to be a better way--and there is: revitalizing Lakewood, making us strong. Let's target ways to keep our "starter home-buyers" here, not leaking away to Avon and Medina.

I though the editorial was pretty dry and hard to read. I found my own writing to be boring.
Ryan Costa did a nice punchy one that got buried in the back of the Sunday section:
