PROGRAM: ABLE Plus

POSITION: ABLE/ESOL Early Literacy Instructional Aide

QUALIFICATIONS:Working knowledge of early childhood development. GED or high school diploma required, B.A. preferred. Physical endurance to lift young children and participate in constant daily activity.

HOURS: 12-24 hours a week

PAY RATE: $12.00 per hour

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide a comfortable and secure environment for children to meet their emotional, social, intellectual and physical needs.
Incorporate appropriate strategies to promote literacy
Assist with the preparation, presentation and clean up of projects and activities such as art projects, stories, songs, classroom activities and bulletin boards
Use developmentally appropriate means of communicating with the children
Assist with the maintenance of a clean, healthy and safe environment.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and instruct students utilizing daily lessons.
Enforce all Board of Education and departmental policies (re: smoking, alcohol usage, vandalism).
Ensure a safe and meaningful environment for participants
Must have excellent record keeping and organizational skills
