Light Up Lakewood

Any further details on the Holiday festivities this year? Isn't there supposed to be something new this year with several groups participating?

I hope the Marc's Plaza looks as beautiful as it did last year. All my friends from River and Bay Village would come over every night to check it out. Seriously maybe they can divert some of the surplus left over from the hanging flower baskets???

Shawn

I am sure as soon as the head of the Chamber drives in to Lakewood, from her home in another city she will post it.

so much for starting a festive buzz. just feel the love in the air. sounds like the role of scrooge may require try outs this year.

Shawn

I know that LakewoodAlive is going to decorate Sinagra Park which should be nice.

I did just get a news release about the Halloween Window Painting.

Shawn:

Miracles do happen.

Light Up Lakewood/Main Street is looking for a Santa.

Clearly Jim O'Bryan, everyone's favorite pinata, is first on the list of homie penitents ready to suit up if elected by a regional delegation.

All together now, everyone in Jimmeyville,

In this season of giving, I would be happy to take one for the team as it is something I do have a background in.

But that means I would need you or even Jay to come to the Hillbilly Hollar New Year's Eve Bash as Baby New Year. Which makes me wonder if LakewoodAlive made room for the flaming monkey in Sinagra Park on December 31!see separate thread LO's 2nd Annual...

It will kick-off on Thursday evening with a downtown lighting ceremony in Sinagra Park. Beautiful new holiday lighting will be hung in the Main Street district and at Sinagra Park. Jennifer

I will be witness that you are hard at work, getting everything in order. I ran into her in Lakewood's favorite downtown coffee house Phoenix, hard at work with Julie.

As always what you need from us, and we can do, you will have.

Good luck.

peace on earth good will to all.

This season dedicate to helping those that need help.

One of the weekend's events is a new citizens' Naturalization Ceremony, hosted by the League of Women Voters, to be held Saturday of Light up Lakewood weekend in the L-Room at Lakewood High School. This event is open to the public. If you've ever attended one, you know how incredibly moving it is to witness new citizens as they take the oath. If you haven't ever attended one -- don't miss this!!

Thanks Teresa, I have heard that it is very moving.

Jim, you crack me up! I do think the flaming monkey on New Years eve, may become a unique Lakewood Attraction!! I'm dying to see it.

But I have to know are these monkeys on skateboards? and how do they handle it if we have lots of snow?

Of course, I'm assuming no actual monkey will be harmed during this and that there will be a disclaimer for children not to try this at home. :)

All the elves seem to be busy.

I saw Jennifer working with Julie ay Phoenix, and got a message from Carol Mason and Dave Shaw, and a news release from Mary Anne Crampton and LakewoodAlive, so it would seem the full press is on with all the elves that bring Light Up Lakewood to life.
