Who is running for Mayor of Lakewood?
When is the next election for Mayor?
Who all is running? I assume Mayor George is running again. What about Foran? Demro? Antonio? Cain? O'Bryan? Jacobs? Farris (not Ferris)? Tony George? Maybe Mickey from ATC?

Cross Farris off your list too - both Don and I.
I really like the idea of O'Bryan - he knows that I think we need someone with his creativity and I have encouraged him more than once to run. I like the idea of Warren too - he is forward thinking and open to new ideas.
I think the race will be between Tom George, Ed Fitzgerald, Mike Skindell and maybe Ryan Demro.
But this is all just speculation.

I have become discouraged and don't plan to vote.

When you don't vote we all loose.
Besides look at the sanity of your list. The Farris' just proved they have no claim to the throne, thinking I would be a good choice. Is that the kind of objectivity we need in the big office? (last time I was in the big room I saw no playstation, not the place for me)
While the ying to my yang Ken Warren makes sense, why would he want to limit his potential?
Vote, that let's give them a very energized group of reisdents ready to help.

While we probably won't agree on a list, or on the ultimate winner of the mayoral race, I'd like to spin the question in another way. Rather than tossing out names, what are the qualities we wnat to see in any candidate?
Lakewood is at a crossroads, on that I think most of us will agree. Finances, taxes, service costs, infastructure, housing maintenance, business flight/attraction. A short list, to be sure, but you get the idea. Not only is the mayor up in 2007, but 4 council seats. Remember, it isn't all about the mayor, we have a city council that shares the power and has a good deal of influence on the direction the city does, or does not, take.
So, rather than names, what are the qualities?
If I had had to go with a short list, I'd say we need a visionary executive. We need a legislative body that looks to build consensus for a shared vision.
Fill in your qualities, then let's see if the candidates can fill the model you've created.
