Used Car lot on Clifton

Post by Jennifer Desilets »

We (residents of Clifton Blvd near Nicholson) have noticed that someone is parking used cars with "for sale" signs in them in front of our homes. It's not a local resident just trying to sell their car, it's several cars all with the same phone number posted. The cars show up on Friday nights and disappear on Sunday nights only to return the following week. They all have yellow steering wheel locks and signs with the same phone number.

I must admit, it took a while before we figured out what was going on. We first noticed an emerald green Cadillac, with "for sale" signs, parked in front of our house several weekends in a row, then noticed that there were actually several cars for sale.

We have not called the number to complain - don't want a rock through the front window. I know this is not a major crime. Heck,I don't know if they could even get a parking ticket, but I don't think it's really appropriate for someone to be running a used car business on Clifton Blvd.

Any thoughts?

I would contact the Police and alert them to the situation. They can than take whatever action is appropriate. I believe that the ordinance does not allow on street parking in excess of 24 hours. You may also want to run a reverse directory search to see who has the number.
