As we continue the march to summer, we look at many great activities around Lakewood from plant sales and swaps to city wide clean-ups looking for volunteers and help. Now is the time to get into Lakewood and what we can make it together for the summer and beyond. Both our City Council Reporter and School Reporter encourage all readers and residents to go to City Council meetings and School Board meetings, and see and meet the people working for us. It is always better to address issues before they become larger, or law for that matter. Government only works when we all take part and provide the oversight all communities need to thrive.

We also look into Lakewood’s latest brush with Hollywood, and some of the other films that are filming around Northern Ohio this year. The project being shot this month in Lakewood is a $50 million dollar high speed thriller starring Samara Weaving, Steve Zahn, and Randall Park who have over 250+ film credits to their bios. Including acting, directing, writing, and as producers.

Links to many of the other films made in Lakewood are at:

You can pick up your printed copy of the Lakewood Observer at over 100 places around town, and or get your digital copy online here:

See you in two-weeks, and by then I hope you have joined the Lakewood Observer, it’s free, and shared your photos, stories, and observations. Join with the 7,000+ Lakewoodites that have taken part in this history making, Journalism Hall of Fame project.
