LO_19_20 ELECTION SPECIAL, On The Streets And Online Here

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

In this issue we publish answers from all of the candidates running for office in Lakewood. Each candidate running for Mayor, City Council and Board of Education agreed to answer all of the questions presented to them by the Lakewood Observer. The hybrid questions asked to the candidates were addressing the most important, and most asked questions by the Lakewood Observer readers who took the time to send in their questions.

Because of space considerations and fairness it was decided that candidates running unopposed, along with the 5th question to the BOE Candidates about School Safety would be placed online along with the complete set of answers from all candidates.

I would like to thank all the candidates for agreeing to answer the questions without seeing them first, and for all the time they have given us during this election season. I also had the pleasure of interacting with a majority of the candidates since they announced and most of it was enjoyable. Look for upcoming stories online about my experiences.

No matter the outcome or their reasons for running, The Lakewood Observer thanks each and every one for taking the time and putting their name up for elected office.

We also underline that the Lakewood Observer is now looking for community help in finding the scariest and best Halloween Decorations for our annual contest. EVERYONE CAN WIN. Not only do the people decorating their homes win, but you can win by sending in addresses of homes that should be seen by all. Just drop the address, as many as you want, at the “Question of the Day” on our website’s front page. The LO will go out and photograph, and present all on line.  DEADLINE is October 30, so get busy.

As we move into both the holiday and colder seasons of the year, please take the time to join the Lakewood Observer, always FREE, and we never abuse your membership with mass emails, or sharing membership lists. Send in your story, from your point of view. Or send in your photos, into your own gallery. Help all Lakewoodites to learn, see and do more in the community we love. If you need help, just ask a staff of writers, editors, photographers, and artists ready to help you present your contribution in the best light.

Let’s all walk into history together, as a community.
