LO_19_12 On The Streets And Online - Summer Arrives

Well here we are, at the start of Summer for everyone, and the 18th Birthday of the first ever Lakewood Observer in print!

Roughly that is 427 printed editions of the Lakewood Observer, 6,832 pages, and tens of thousands of stories, and hundreds of thousands of photos, videos and graphics! All of the city we call home. All available 24/7/365 at no charge, no registration. The only time you need to register is to post comments, and or access the powerful search feature on "The Observation Deck." The home of the most complete ongoing discussions in Lakewood's history. All FREE.

From news from City Hall to Block Parties. From professional sports to school sports, from high school stages to professional stages. 100% written all by you, the Lakewood residents, business owner, new resident, former resident. All working together on two common goals: 1) Keep you informed 2) Keep a running history of the city and community we all love.

In fact, the Lakewood Observer is the only Lakewood media project started with love and mutual support for all and everything Lakewood. We try to focus on the positive, and that we do quite well. After all, everyone likes a good story. But we never walk away from the tough story, the bitter news we as Lakewood must face. 99% of Lakewood boards and media is heavily controlled, edited, and policed. At the Observer we have a different view. You always have a place at the table, you are only excluded when you become destructive, and that has happened less than a handful of times in 22 years.

We like to think of ourselves as the adults at the table. One agenda, truth and honesty from elected officials, and those on city and government payrolls. While highlighting all of the great things that come from Lakewood residents, businesses, students, in music, art, education, and LIFE!

We understand that the needs, concerns, and dreams of the Observers are as varied and diverse as the rest of the community. This is why we shy away from ever backing a singular candidate, and why all candidates are welcomed to the Observer to share their views, backgrounds, and ideas. The Observer project is your mirror on Lakewood. Look into it and you will be amazed at what you can see, and understand. After all, at the end of the day we are all Observers.

Please consider sharing your stories, photos, news, etc. with the world through the Lakewood Observer platform. Since formation we have partnered with both Yahoo and Google to broadcast Lakewood news to the world. Take the time to leave your mark on Lakewood’s ever growing historical record of life in Lakewood. After all, stories, like photos, are best when shared.

You can pick up this edition of the print edition at over 100 locations around town, including most apartment's mail rooms, businesses, churches, schools, even City Hall. FREE to all.
