Board Gets Started On Superintendent Search

Dear Lakewood Staff and Families:

The Lakewood Board of Education has retained Finding Leaders, a locally based school-focused firm, to support the Board in identifying and retaining the next Superintendent of the Lakewood City Schools. We are working swiftly to post the position and solicit interest from qualified applicants. Part of the work with Finding Leaders will include forming focus groups in January and February in order to receive feedback to help inform the process. The Board's goal is to hold interviews with candidates in early March, however that timeline is subject to change depending on new information. We hope to have the new Superintendent hired in time for some days for transition work with Dr. Barnes prior to his departure. While this is a challenging time, we believe the next Superintendent of the Lakewood CIty Schools will be named and under contract this spring.
