Want To Assist In Person Voters?

Post by Betsy Voinovich »

Fellow neighbor and Observer contributor Dan Shields has been going down to the Board of Elections to try to make the long wait for voters lined up outside a little easier. He has been bringing garbage bags for rain ponchos, bottles of water and power bars. Rain is expected all day tomorrow, it's supposed to be sunny on Saturday and more rain Sunday. Monday looks cloudy with a high of only 44 degrees.

If you would like to join Dan and help distribute food water or ponchos and/or have some supplies you can donate (including umbrellas!), call him at 216-200-2863. He will be out there every day through Monday evening. Also you can let him know if you need a ride downtown to drop off an absentee ballot at the Board of Elections, or you need a ride to go vote in person.

Early voting hours at the Board of Elections are 8am to 7pm today (Thursday) and Friday. Saturday hours are 8am to 4pm, Sunday 1pm to 5pm, Monday, the day before the election, hours are 8am to 2pm. You can't vote at the Board of Elections on Tuesday.

If you haven't voted yet, vote! If you still have your absentee ballot, if might be a good idea to fill it out and take it downtown to the dropbox, one is in the Board of Elections parking lot and the other is directly across the street at the Campus International school. If you would like to vote early in person, you still have time! The Board is open every day including this Sunday for voting up until Election Day.

There's no excuse not to! It's time to vote!

That's definitely a very good idea: at this point return your ballot directly to the Board of Elections. 2925 Euclid Ave.

The drop box is available 24 hours, and you don't have to get out of your car if you're driving.

Do not plan on walking a vote-by-mail ballot to the neighborhood polling place on Tuesday. They can't accept it. Vote by mail ballots have to go back to the Board of Elections, by 7:30 p.m. Tuesday Nov 3.

There are plenty of unreturned ballots so please spread the word to friends, family, etc.
