Gov. DeWine

May 31 Childcare providers will be able to open. They will have to reduce their capacity and practice safe practices like washing their hands.

Childcare providers MAY wear masks, temperatures will be taken of students if they feel bad, and classroom group sizes will be down to 9 children in a classroom. No field trips but playground and outdoor activities will be allowed.

Childcare centers are being asked to make sure they wash everything and their hands.

Parents can help by teaching the children how to wash hands and not touch their faces.

Will will monitor and learn as we go forward.

We are all learning as we go forward and we are still learning this. There are many things we do not know, so we might have to make changes.

There will be more than $60 million available to make up for shortfalls and pay for safety measures.

Lt. Gov. John Husted

More Openings
We try to seek a balance between health and economics.

These businesses may open, but do not have to. Also Cities may have their own rules.

Horse racing will be opening up on the 26th.

All guidance for proper operations will be on the State of Ohio website

Dr. Amy Acton

Opening of childcare, we are all learning together and we are going to be a leader in sending children back to school. We have a chance to be part of a national study to see if and how this will work while learning and developing safe practices along the way.

Jim,
Another governor we are both aware of presents daily stats in context with the several days (or other relevant period) preceding so the trend can be clearly seen. Does DeWine do this? Would it be too much work to present his stats in that context?

There is a covid-19 related inflammatory disease that is attacking children.
One of its effects is to the circulatory system. It can effect their HEART.

I truly don't understand, why daycare centers will be opening, under these circumstances.

It's a natural impulse of children to touch something, and then put it into their mouth. It's a part of the growing process.

Unless it's one provider per child, I don't see, how each child can be protected.
I feel like they're being tossed overboard, while everyone hopes for the best.

I am with you.

Here is the real reasoning. You cannot ask people to go back to work without their kids in school. So Day Care and pre-school, summer camp gets the push.

Their public reasoning is kids don't get it. We know that is not true, and if it was why not start with teens, and middle school, as those kids can at least discuss how they feel and comprehend not touching faces and other children. But those kids can watch themselves so no need to risk them.

Besides 80% of the kids will not even know they have it. Right?

Yesterday Ohio tested 1/2 the number of people they did on their best day. Which means not many.

I fear they have sold their souls to the devil. Today even Dr. Acton was talking about how their testing will be ramping up soon, but it is not that important.

My suggestions to everyone. Is by May 21, you better have 3 weeks of food in the house if not more.

This will be one wild ride.
