The essence of this lawsuit bears striking resemblance to a similar situation here in Lakewood.
A Parma administrative official, acting with approval of the school superintendent, frequently posted city and school business and announcements on social media. This woman then blocked several residents who responded to, or initiated posts, that were critical of the city, schools, or its administration.
The lawyer filing suit on behalf of the blocked resident stated:
Sound familiar? He said that even if Holtzman is using her personal account for her job, it violates Sebastian’s free-speech rights to block her because Holtzman “now uses it as a means to disseminate official school information.”
Sorry, can’t claim it’s your “personal” account!
Maybe this will spur some of the blocked residents here to action!
And I hope it resonates with council when they choose a replacement for Meghan George’s seat.
