New Principal at Garfield Middle School

The Board of Education at its July 16 meeting approved Harding Middle School assistant principal Robin Beavers as the next principal for Garfield Middle School. Beavers will replace Mark Walter, who will be moving to Lakewood High School as principal.

Prior to being named assistant principal at Harding last year, Beavers spent four years at Garfield as a science teacher. She has also served as the District’s summer school coordinator the past two summers.

Beavers, a Lakewood resident, is currently studying the District’s Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) system and its effects on our students as part of her Ph.D. dissertation she is pursuing at Cleveland State. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Miami University and her master’s in educational administration from Cleveland State.
