Who Does This?

Post by dl meckes »

What defeated member of council and her cadre of dementors thinks it would be a good idea to drum an honest man out of the Democratic Party? Could she be doing this to support this man's opponent? Does she think if her boy wins, she'll get her seat back because she's been promised an appointment?

That's the sorry move that someone who had another person take her ethics training for her?

I wonder who else signed her letter?

dl meckes,

I need clarity. I need a name. An explanation.
Is this the same defeated member of council that Nickie Antonio endorsed.
An incumbent who was crushed in the last election.
An incumbent who, on a level playing field, couldn't get elected dog catcher in Lakewood.

Who's that drumming against an honest man.
An honest man, what a notion.

To clarify, Cindy Marx has only requested that Mike Skindell be removed from the Democratic Executive Committee, not from the entire party.

This is part of her blatant attempt to get back on City Council despite her disastrous 2017 results.
If Bullock were to be voted to State legislature, she thinks that Team Summers will give her Bullock's council seat.
She apparently believes that "a vote for Tom Bullock is a vote for me".

More than one person has told me this is part of her campaign speech for reasons to vote for Tom Bullock. Which is nearly as sick as some members of Lakewood Democratic Club telling me, to vote for Bullock as a way to get him out of Lakewood.

I raised this very point when I posted this photo, in the thread "Lakewood Voters No Longer Needed."

There is a sickness in Lakewood politics, and Lakewood. It starts with a demented clubby atmosphere, and permeates win at all costs campaign. Until you see some of the most lack luster political shills of all time trying to kick one of the most honest, smartest Lakewood Democrats of all time to the gutter.

It should be noted, that Cindy Marx stayed silent and help with the cover-up of the deal that sold the hospital off secretly.

It should be noted that Cindy Marx stood by silently while during City's Cover-up their plan, and stayed silent when resident asked for documents and were forced to sue.

This would be a great time for Cindy Marx to demand that the documents be released, and come clean on what she knows about this debacle.

Do these people ever stop?

Just say NO to Cindy Marx!

Cindy, you LOST, accept it and move on. You weren’t wanted on council any longer.

If the mayor and council think appointing a loser to council will go over well, I have one word: CHARLIE.

Personally I don't believe that an electoral defeat has to mean banishment from public life. I don't believe that anyone is obliged to like electoral defeat, or accept it as forever.

But I do believe that an electoral comeback is the best way to overcome an electoral defeat. Both for office-seekers and for society.

For society, elections' consequences don't need to be permanent, but elections do need to have consequences. If voters express a historic preference for change, and yet people in power move to directly reverse the resulting change? This tells people that democracy is only a pretense.

There's a better way. Go to the public and appeal to them, instead of to kingmakers.

Don't see the only choices as go away, or go to the kingmakers. Go to the public and appeal to them.

Go to the public and appeal to them, it's as fair as anything gets, and doing it that way nurtures a democratic society whether you win or lose.

Matt

I was not referring to banishment for life.

For what Ed FitzGerald has been banished for hardly seem like a bump in the road nowadays. Like Cindy Mark was a very close 4th place.

But I too agree that 1) The best way to get back is people wanting you back, not because of someone else. 2) It pained me to see Cindy Marx who was always a pretty solid individual get swallowed up in "team politics" and then show up at the Bullock announcement.

Judging by the look on her face in the photo, the hand ringing, and knowing her I think it must have pained her too.

I do give her a ton of credit, when she went public about returning checks from some pretty troubled individuals. I appreciated her comments and the letter.

Thank you, Mike Deneen for the clarification. I was so horrified about this, I obviously didn't hear the whole story.

But who the hell does this? Asking for Sunshine is not a bad thing.

I am also completely disgusted with appointments to vacated jobs. These appointments just set zombies in motion.

And this secret club business has got to stop.

Also, voting to get someone the hell out of Lakewood probably gave us Mayor Summers.

I had always liked Cindy a lot. Still do personally. But her involvement in the Dem Club "purge" and now this leaves a bad feeling. It's no way to treat people in your own party who you disagree with.

Ms. Conant,

I respectfully disagree.
She engaged in gutter politics in the hopes that she would benefit from the results.
What's on display here is a predatory opportunism devoid of any principles.

Ms. Marx's conduct is disgraceful.

So was there a formal letter to the county dem party? Just want to get a handle of the process here. Since endorsements are already done, what is the end-game? There has to be another reason to go after Senator Skindell. The party has already endorsed his opponent. How would drumming him out of the executive committee help her or BULLock in the near term?

Marx is BOTH engaging in gutter politics AND being manipulated.
If Bullock were to win, I wouldn't be shocked if Team Summers double crossed her by putting someone else on council.
After all, what exactly could she do about it? Call a cop?

I don’t believe Marx has the savvy to figure out how to get herself her job back. The maneuvering seen here is typical Team Summers politics. It looks like they got her to be the public face of “dissing” Skindell so that Bullock isn’t “connected” to the hatchet job. They have Marx do the dirty work and promise her she’ll be rewarded.

It’s all so Cuyahoga Style.

It is typical Ed FitzGerald work, let's nut forget who gave birth to Mayor Summers, and "the plan."
