Yes, it's very easy to believe. Anybody with three or more brain cells knew that Trump is a sociopath who puts himself above all else. He's been that way very publicly since the 1980s.
He's basically a larger, nationalized version of Summers.

I believe someone predicted much of this a year ago......

I still do not understand how some of my friends could ever vote for him, he goes against all that is right and good. HE WILL GET HIS PUNISHMENT IN THE NEXT LIFE. I WISH IT COULD BE NOW.

James

I can understand in a sort of twisted way, how some were tricked into voting for President Trump. Change, fight the system, drain the swamp. I see many very smart people get fooled by utter bullshit sold well by hucksters. Look at the hospital BS here. The Mayor looks the residents right in the eye and say, "LO is lying the hospital is not closing." I know many today that still think, he got had by the clinic, when the fact is we got played by him.

But like here, anyone that still buys in and defends, the lies, the cover-up and the attack not just on democracy but social norms and what is expected of elected officials are fools and idiots, and are now complicit themselves.

I have a good friend who defends Trump at every opportunity. Russia, just BS, they didn't do anything.

The problem is with both Trump and Lakewood Civic leaders you have to ignore truckloads of real evidence, real facts to get to where their story is.

What bothers me even more are those that finally see the truth, and say, "well what can we do or say, it is the way it is." To not stand up is as bad as being complicit.

It was an uphill battle, to stop the war in Vietnam, and it took people, documents, facts, honest politicians and time. The same is true with Nixon, an the same is true now with Trump, and Lakewood City Hall. We must stand and hold our civic leaders and elected officials responsible, and accountable, or it is are just shit.

This reminds me of how excited Johnny Manziel fans got when he scored a touchdown on his first drive in Buffalo.
They were huffing and puffing, sticking their chests out......while the rest of the world clearly saw Johnny as the train wreck that he would become.

Noone today admits to being a Manziel fan.
The same will be true of Trump in a couple years.
The only good thing about Trump is that he will drag the rest of the current GOP down with him.....other than Kasich and Ah-Nold, I don't see anyone in that party with the balls to stand up to him.
They are quivering and cowering the same way our City Council was to Summers (aka "Trump Jr").
The future GOP will have to explain to an increasingly diverse nation why it supported such a blatant white supremacist and conman...as the number of angry old white men declines each year.
The GOP will need to reinvent itself, hopefully as a sane, tolerant organization.
Lord knows that the DNC needs a rational GOP to keep it in check....we've seen here in Lakewood what happens when the GOP disappears.

Jim and Mike Good Posts my sentiments exactly. In my opinion he is pure evil. Why does he go against the environment, and protection of animals?

Money.
Follow the money.

As a side note, Evangelicals hope and believe that the world is ending soon anyway, so why bother protecting the environment?

Mr. Salo,

So good to hear from you.

Exceeding expections is always better—-“blown expectations” destroy relationships.

Based upon the list published by JOB (and what he left off the list) some of which it took Obama 8 years to achieve, it appears President Trump has accomplished much—-and in such a short time.

Trump also appears to have met Mr. Deenen’s expectations (except for the disappointing stock market and economic news).

But back to the headline of this thread:

Putin’s return on his Facebook spending has clearly exceeded Putin’s expectations. He seems to have nearly all of Washington setting their hair on fire and talking about Putin, Russians, “McCarthy” etc.

I just saw Alan Arlin at the Root...

And people ran out screaming “the Russians are coming!!...”

I may have been a year early on the stock market thing, but I strongly suggest everyone take a look at their portfolios ASAP.
Reality started to set in this week.

I have held my fire on Trump lately because a) things have been going well despite him, and b) the alternative is worse: Pence. I think it was Bill Maher who joked that the difference between Pence and the Taliban is the Taliban throws gay people off of buildings. He destroyed Indiana's economy, then got out of Dodge just in time to run with Trump. But the main thing is, he's somewhat competent. Read Fire and Fury, Trump is beyond incompetent. He's our worst president ever and a despicable human being. He is literally the definition of the word 'asshole" - see the book Assholes by Aaron James where he tries to objectively tries to define the term, and uses a pre-presidential Trump as a prime example. And the alternative is Pence. I've argued with many Lakewood folks about this, but still believe it strongly. Let Trump destroy the Republicans and then the Democrats and mainstream Republicans can move on. I know how to deal with asshole, but not an ayatollah.

And BTW kudos to Jim for not moving this thread to Global. We agree on many if not most things, but not the need for different forums.

Thanks Mike, Dan and Jim. Lakewood Observer is also a cure for my insanity knowing that others have the same thoughts as I do.
