Bitter Cold Continues

Lunch at Pier W, even the Lobster Bisque Soup can't break through the cold temps outside. Still one of the great deals in town. Lunch at the Pier.

Bitter cold temperatures continue at least through the weekend. So please, only leave pets outside for a short period of time, minutes at best.

Check on neighbors, especially the elderly or those that seem sick and frail.

Make sure nothing is stacked up next to your furnace, hot water tank, fireplace or space heaters.

Check and make sure any plugs or power strips are not overheating, and or starting to melt.

We will get through this.

And if not the Bisque at the Pier, try the Canjun Stew at the Westend Tavern, or Rasam Soup at Namaste India Garden I guarantee it will warm you up.

The city is requesting that garbage and recycling carts not be put out for Wednesday or Thursday collection.

Jim, you are old enough to remember when the lake was frozen solid to Canada. Driving junkers with the doors removed to Canada to pick up cheap booze. Ice fishing anywhere and ice boats raced on the ice in Sandusky bay, and ice stacked itself higher on the shore than Marble Head lighthouse was tall. The only reason we feel the cols is bit more is due to age and poor circulation and still can't hold our liquor.

Richard not that memory, but I remember it the lake freezing over completely. I have fished in an ice house in Sandusky harbor and watched ice boats there as well. Back in 6th grade with the Krupa family.

I put feeling cold down to joints and arthritis! haha
