Mayor Lawther was a staunch and effective standard bearer of a traditional Lakewood. Times changed, he moved on to be a respected Judge. His wife, Kathy, was one of the early forward looking leaders in establishing public services in Lakewood.
We are better off from his public service.

If you will allow a personal anecdote- I remember running into the lobby of the Lakewood Family YMCA a few years ago and saw Bob Lawther (in workout clothes) looking at the plaques of significant donors displayed. He mused to me "I wonder how much it costs to get one of those?"
You have one displayed, Mayor--it's up there.
Let successors maintain the same integrity.
