Data Breach at Pier W

From Crains: "Beachwood-based Select Restaurants Inc., an operator of upscale restaurants including Pier W in Lakewood, disclosed what it called a "data security incident" at its third-party vendor that "may have compromised the security of payment information of some guests" at 12 of its restaurants between Oct. 26, 2016, and Feb. 3 of this year.

Select said in a news release that on March 30, it "began investigating some unusual activity reported to the company by its third-party vendor" and then engaged independent forensic experts "to investigate these reports and to identify any signs of compromise on its systems."

On April 26, Select said it "confirmed suspicious activity on its computer systems that indicated a potential compromise of guests' debit and credit card data for some debit and credit cards" used at the 12 restaurants."

Another restaurant is in Cincinnati, the rest re outside of Ohio.
