Hird, Clifton Prado,

Post by jackie f taylor »

The other night, not to mention so many other nights, a passerby was robbed in the hood, by 3 young men. That neighborhood, near Sapelle's, could be so wonderful, like German Village in Columbus, Ohio City, Tremont, Gordon Square, Kamm's corner. Lakewood ?

Why are we not just as an important a neighborhood as those? cause we don't restore, we demolish. "Restore Baby" Restore. Thant's why were not up to par. I'm going to do an article, If I were younger, I'd make the owner an offer, $28,000.00 cash. Get out now, no more headaches. Who wants to live in a neighborhood where there are robberies anytime of the day? not me. You rent trash, you get trash.

That neighborhood, so close and convenient to everything, each home is unique, the entire street is a diamond in the rough. First, remove the ugly siding, restore and repaint to compliment the character and style or the day. Move in, make it your home or for "lease", $1200.00, starting point, now maybe $500.00 a month. who wants that? Trash. any peace of shit can afford that. the better the neighborhood, the better for everyone. The tenants, the neighbors, you, the business's, Others would follow your foot steps, that's how everything begins, Take a stand. Take over a run down neighborhood, make it fabulous. That is how you save a neighborhood. Tremont, Ohio City, I've SAID ENOUGH.

People hang on to a property cause it brings them $500 a month, and there betting on a lousy $50.00 profit or not. just to get by, no improvements, whoever will pay, ok, rented. . stop it, restore your place and rent it for $1200.00 your headaches are gone, you are happy, your proud of your investment. and content with your tenants. The government should have a program that shouts in your face, " MAKE IT GREAT, MAKE IT SAFE, REBATE". "I'm just saying.

I've always did better with offering more, than what I did with offering less. You do what ever you want, call me selfish, greedy, but I'm a happy camper, my tenants are happy, the city is happy. I don't have the "best", but I have satisfaction. I can sleep at night. and that my friend, is priceless.

Jackie,

With the on going heroin problem, unfortunately, I fear we will be seeing a lot more of this.
