TRAFFIC PATTERN HAS CHANGED
What? I've driven thru those streets, I see a sign, "Traffic Pattern" has changed. There are these stupid fiberglass poles sticking into the street, some on the left side and some on the right side. You have to either stop, and wait for the oncoming auto to pass, or turn one way or another to avoid them, who thought of this idea? what are you smoking would you be willing to share it?

Welcome to 2014 Jackie, heh. I think half those posts have already been removed even.
For what it's worth, I agree with you: not the greatest idea.

I want to know, who came up with this idea?

Re: TRAFFIC PATTERN HAS CHANGED
Poor Woodward Avenue wanted to keep a lid on all the McDonald's traffic on their street.
Careful what you ask for!
Now that that bad decision is falling apart, maybe things will get back to normal on Woodward, sans obstacle course!

It looks terrible! So many people have hit and bent those poles or knocked them out completely. Mr. Summers, is there enough money left at city hall to repair these?

Re: TRAFFIC PATTERN HAS CHANGED
I posted on the old thread as a former Woodward resident who believed it was an awful solution, but then a number of residents chimed in that they thought it was a good idea and hoped it would improve so I backed off. Would be interesting if some of those same residents weighed in again.

Re: TRAFFIC PATTERN HAS CHANGED
I like the idea of the residents of a street teaming together to try to make their situation better or stand up to big business or government, but...
It always perturbed me that they were able to get special treatment on their street. I've always thought Woodward is busy because its one of the few streets where you can get directly from south of hilliard to detroit road straight through, easily, with the help of traffic signals (or doing the opposite). It's always bothered me that they were willing to redirect traffic from McDonald's headed south onto Northland (via the - I assume - non-enforceable no right turn sign in McDonald's property), as if the folks living on Northland are any less important or have any less right to try to redirect traffic.
