Just got the magic call from our beloved Superintendent Jeff Patterson. After a chorus of "Yays!" everyone has gone back to bed.

Just in.... Lakewood Catholic Acadeny is also closed. I don't see St. Ed's listed yet but -- oh there it is. Along with Magnificat and St. Joe's.

As always, thank you for those timely updates.

Springtime in the Greater Cleveland Area often brings weather surprises to different parts of Northeast Ohio. Living in Lakewood while teaching in a southern suburb, I was reminded of this more than once.

The year that I retired from teaching, I remember getting a snow day phone call; with my school district being closed. I then looked out my Lakewood window, and all was quiet and snow free. It rapidly warmed that day, to the point that I was actually able to cut the grass on a snow day!

Curious however, I hopped in the car and headed over to my higher-elevation school district, where a good 8 inches plus of blowing and drifting snow had crippled that community.

I came back home to enjoy myself in my sunny back yard, over a cool glass of iced tea.
