Help us keep the First Amendment alive in Lakewood, while sharing the love of this city!
The single biggest request we have had since the first year was, "Where can I get a T-Shirt?" The Lakewood Observer t-shirts became legendary out of the box, and disappeared as fast as water through open hands. Over the past decade we have done many things, but rarely promote the Lakewood Observer project, meetings, membership. No email blast, no endless tweets of other people's content. We took a more laid back approach, we are here, stop by sometime.
2017 Will see everything change, have we got some surprises for everyone!
Yes they still glow in the dark!

Also available in long sleeve, with pockets, hoodies, mugs, etc.
"Over a decade of celebrating our First Amendment in Lakewood"
Share your Love of this city, get a FREE shirt!
How do you get one? Well to get one for FREE, you have to submit a story to the Lakewood Observer, between 250 - 350 words, that is not a self promotion piece that appears in the printed edition. In other words share a story about your favorite restaurant, business, experience, class, teacher, street, block party, whatever and you get a FREE Observer t-shirt. IF you submit stories that are viewed as self serving, or from a group you are actively a part of, you can still get LO Shirts at cost, $6.00.
If you are a member of the LO Deck, LO Shirts and gear can be obtained at our coffee meetings around town.
From today's Lakewood Observer, by Debra O’Bryan
The Lakewood Observer is not like other newspapers. The paper you are holding is written by residents. We do not have a writing staff, we rely on submissions from you. Yes… you, your family, neighbors, and friends in the city.
Anyone in Lakewood is encouraged to write for this publication about anything in Lakewood! Write about what interests you. You may contribute regularly, on occasion, or once in a blue moon. It’s totally up to you. If you think something should be covered, please do so and write it up. You can team up with classmates, colleagues, or friends if you don’t want to go solo. If you want to share a news event, special event, opinion piece, recipe, poem, or just a photo. It’s entirely up to you, and it’s a piece of cake to do.
Submitting an article or photo is done completely online. Just go to home page at http://www.lakewoodobserver.com and click on “Member Center” at the left of the page. While on the home page, you can view our terms and conditions under “Policies.”
We generally are interested in 200-500 word articles. Businesses are asked to refrain from solely promoting their business. That is what advertising is for, and we are here to help with that as well.
All submissions must be original. Our editorial staff will check for spelling and grammar and edit accordingly. Sometimes articles are shortened due to space constraints. We are always here to help you through the process if needed. Questions can be sent to: production@lakewoodobserver.com.
Not interested in writing, but still have a voice to be heard? Then the Observation Deck is the place for you. Our online forum welcomes you to throw a cheer out to something great happening in our fine city, or maybe a jeer about something that’s not sitting well with you and you want to talk about it. Maybe you just have a question about something going on, at the “Deck” you are sure to find someone to offer answers. This is the place to discuss all things Lakewood. We do ask that you use your real name and are respectful to others using and reading the deck. Just click on “Observation Deck Forum” and join. Like the paper, it’s free.
