Lakewood's loss

Post by Thomas J. George »

For those who were unaware, Sgt. Kevin Galvin passed away. Kevin was a retired Lakewood Police Sergeant and lifelong Lakewood resident.

After retiring, he established Lakewood's first CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), of which many of you participated.

Condolences to his wife DeDe and family.

McGorray's 2-8 Friday March 3rd. Funeral at St. James 10:00 Saturday March 4th.

He was a young 60. Great guy who cared deeply, deeply about Lakewood.

I was just alerted to this today as Mr. Galvin chose my rescue for memorial donations to be made. (I was actually crying when I found out)
Here is his obituary.... Thank you Galvin family....

We are so sorry to hear this. Kevin was a great guy. His CERT classes were wonderful and he advised us, with a great deal of humor, of what we should and should not expect. I always enjoyed talking with him - especially after he retired from the police department. We wish his family peace.
