OUTSIDE IS A SHEET OF ICE
Been working on getting our cars de-iced for 30 minutes still not out. Had to pry doors open with a weeder from the garage. Steps were coated with ice even tho I salted them last night, almost went flying down them.
Haven't tried the roads at all yet, but BE CAREFUL!

There are a lot of people complaining about Lakewood's performance on keeping the roads clear and passable on Facebook and other social media sites. The majority are not complimentary.

Re: OUTSIDE IS A SHEET OF ICE
I complained online a lot about the way the city handled the snow on Thursday and Friday. I drove on both ends of Lakewood today around noon picking up some of my kids friends and the streets were really good. I am glad the city has done a better job today. I hope the online complaints get to the mayors ear and cause him to make changes to the way we approach snow removal moving forward this winter.

I think what we are getting is the new normal... it will never be as clean as it used to be. Other than Friday night, when I thought it was surprising how slippery the main streets were through the evening after having an entire day to work on it, it's been good enough. Those of us who have been here a while remember it being so much better, but we'll just have to get over it.

As a long time resident, I agree that we are not getting the same level of services. However, I question your conclusion that "we'll just have to get over it."
Why? Why should we accept less? Are we paying less tax?
I'm not ready to accept less service, particularly after we just gave away 1200+ jobs and all that income after being reassured by our finance director that we could easily do without that money. So don't tell me we don't have enough resources to provide the level of service we are accustomed to!

We aren't just not getting the level of service we are used to, we are getting a level of service far below our neighboring cities.

Whenever I am visiting family and I hit the Cleveland / Lakewood line, I know I am home. When Cleveland streets are better than Lakewood's , you know we got a problem!
Again, Lord, your Kingdom is in need of some city ordinance oversight!
Perhaps city hall is too busy sending our city funds to the laundry and have no time to pay attention to we, the unimportant tax payers that pay their salaries!
Apparently city hall does not know how to multi task! Why then do we pay the majority of them over-inflated salaries? Hmmm!
