I was putting away my groceries at W117th Giant Eagle when I came across this lit bit of wild kingdom early this afternoon.
After submitting to a few photo shots, the hawk flew away with gull flailing in mouth and talons.

I was putting away my groceries at W117th Giant Eagle when I came across this lit bit of wild kingdom early this afternoon.

It's amazing what hunters those hawks are.
I saw one grab a pigeon in midair above my backyard and the feathers rained down on my lawn. It was brutal, yet magnificent.
Another time, a hawk grabbed a squirrel right out of the oak tree in front of my house then sat on my lawn picking the squirrel apart. He even let me get fairly close to take pictures.
