Is it possible for two different views and outcomes held by two different people to be correct?
One of the many strongholds of the Observer is that me, at 62, no kids, home owner and business might have and see different needs than Mike, young, father, businessman, or Matt (author?) Are there always only two sides? Are there ever just two sides.
Many people under the age of 40 thought, rec center yeah! When the one side rolled up it was, "they hate change." When the other side rolled up it was, "they are on the take."
Could it be, many of us have different needs, wants, and dreams, and this is why conversation and openness is good for a community?
Are these legitimate reasons for wanting something...
Job opportunity?
Gentrification?
Better community use?
Better use, period?
Need to raise money?
You hated it?
Someone you do not like is for it?
I believe they are all legitimate reasons.
POTENTIALLY foolish, selfish, if based on the wrong information. This is why open discussion is good.

To me, the beauty of this project, is that it has room for all of that and more. People that truly care about the community like Matt, Mike, Mark and people whose names start with other letters than M can stop, read, share and hopefully, educate, improve, record and disseminate for the betterment of all.
Love them, or not everyday we have to look them in the eye. Those pesky other Lakewoodites, and their views, and habits.
This holiday season, let's smile, and in 2017 please take the time to jump into the conversation like Matt, Mike and Mark. Don't believe the hype.
Who knows maybe you can at least educate this old Irishman, and most would say that is reason enough.
