More than a quarter million people die, (are killed?) in this country each year by "medical error", the third leading cause of death in the U. S. behind heart disease and cancer. Why isn't this an epidemic?

Where is the public outrage?

Where are the town hall meetings?

Why no press coverage?

Annual U.S. heroin deaths are a fraction of folks killed by medical error.......ask your doctor.......tell your doctor

Yes, I learned this a few months ago, I wonder what the odds are that a normal person will die or be harmed by medical mistakes. Have you seen any numbers on how it breaks down comparing wrong drugs prescribed or mistakes when a person is subject to wrong diagnosis or faulty procedures when being operated on. How about that many people get a fatal or serious infection from being in the hospital, being a Eucharistic at Lakewood Hospital for 14 years I met many people that had an infection contracted in a hospital and it can be very hard to be cured depending on the condition of the infected patient. Why is this allowed to continue? What is the medical community doing about it, I used to wonder about some of the cleaning procedures also. I never want to be a patient in the hospital. Prescription drugs can also be harmful. Food is medicine, eating right is a major factor to being healthy. This heroin epidemic is heart breaking and is closer to home.

Sorry this should be on another thread.

The article about the LCAC is great, and a very compelling reminder to pitch in. I wouldn't have known about this otherwise.
