Post by Michael Deneen »

The head football coaching job is officially open at Lakewood High School.
I'll post more information when I find out details.

Sad. Love Ribar. He deserved a better hand dealt to him. Good luck to whoever replaces him.

Did Ribar get canned? ... or quit?

I see the deadline for applying for the position is Dec 1. That seems very quick. Maybe this is just a formality and they expect Ribar (or someone on the inside) back?

Since we're together we might as well say:
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?"

The School Board accepted Mike Ribar's resignation at its meeting last night.
His record was 3-27 over three seasons.

Here is a statement from LHS Athletic Director Sean Jackson: “We thank Coach Ribar for the passion he brought to our football program as a Lakewood High alumni and we wish him well as he continues to lead our Ranger baseball program.”

I think Coaches give their all. They are inspirations to all of us. Especially, at the middle school and high school level they are the glue of the community.

We all love win/loss records but we really respect striving.
